Fraternal twins

I can let the cat out of the bag now, Rachel received her birthday package, with the Jaywalker socks done in Lana Grossa Meilenwiet Fantasy, color 4833. Like Rachel and Ryan, these socks are fraternal twins. Since nothing I knit is ever perfect, symmetrical, or exactly to a pattern (kind of like my cooking), I'm just happy that they fit and she likes them. I think I heard on a podcast recently that over 400 people have posted photos on Grumperina's gallery of their finished Jaywalkers. I love the pattern myself, can almost do it without looking. I'm also working on a second pair of socks for Rachel, these are in Regia Silk, and the pattern is from Knit Foundry, called Elegant Cable. The yarn is very fine, and the pattern called for 2.0 mm needles, the smallest I've ever used. At first I was a little worried, my eyes occasionally get quite googly (especially when I drop a couple stitches and have to fuss and fiddle for 20 minutes retrieving them),but I love the pattern, it's really the first lace I've ever done, and they are turning out quite nicely, and the fit and feel is delicious. Both pair of these socks have a pink theme, even though Rachel loves purple...she also loves Mutts Comics, and Mooch is always cuddling his "Li'l Pink Sock"...so I thought it would be nice for Rachel to have her own Li'l Pink Socks.
