Tango heaven
We were invited by dear friends to be part of the tango party celebrating their wedding. They had invited around 60 friends to share in the event, and asked us to teach a basic class, and to perform a couple of demonstration dances. It was a magical evening, in an incredible setting, at La Mirada Art Museum. The weather was perfect. The afternoon sun had warmed the patio attached to the reception room, fragrant petals fell from the tulip tree onto the historic brick paving, the sounds of the fountain blending with birds singing as the caterers set up for the party. Inside the glass doors, the elegant room features a huge antique screen from Beijing's Forbidden City at one end, crystal chandeliers and gleaming oak floors, antique velvet couches and chairs around the perimeter. Sean played tango music as people arrived and got into the festivities, sharing food and wine and friendship. After an hour or so, we taught the class, it was so much fun, everyone was very enthusiastic and good-humored and seemed to enjoy themselves. I know we did, it's always a privilege and energizing to share our love of tango. We finished by doing our demonstration, and then our newly wedded friends danced to one of their favorite songs. The room erupted in cheers and waves of congratualtions and affection. The rest of the evening was spent in music and dancing and wonderful food and socializing.
Thanks to Juan Quintana and Franco Zeister, cinematographers.

Very lovely tango. It is always a pleasure to watch, especially those who do it well.
