Porpoises and mermaids

Window cleaning jobs today brought this view of porpoises swimming parallel to Del Monte beach, with kayakers among them. There were probably half-dozen groups, each with 3-6 sleek backs and fins arcing in and out of the water, which was very smooth. Lots of pelicans flying in long lines close to the glassy water today too.

I finished this last evening, a project that had been sleeping (though not with the fishes) for awhile. Kureopatora Scarf, in SWTC Karaoke, and appropriately, the color is called Mermaid. Seeing the porpoises made me wish I were a mermaid, at least long enough for a quick swim with them.
I've also just finished some baby socks, and the first pair of elvish booties, and I'm half done with the second pair.

Finally, continuing in this color scheme, I saw this under a window I was washing:

How I love these colors!

the scarf is really pretty. I have only just registered on Ravely so I'm preparing myself for hours at the computer.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! As for CPH - go for it. It's a very simple pattern, and everyone I've seen in Cascade 220 looks great.

Love your elvish booties and matching fairy hat. Very cute! And I've never seen Kureopatora before. Very interesting pattern. Serpentine, indeed. Lovely in the Karaoke.

The scarf is fabulous. I love the colours. Unfortunately I can't see the porpoises at the moment, but I don't know how you get anything done if you can see them from your house. Even knitting would be hard.

Ooo! and sorry for the spammage, but I just looked at your bio and saw where you live. Now I really don't know how you get anything done. I was raised in Ca. and Monterey is one of my most favouritest places *sigh*.
