Once every three years...

whether he needs it or not.

This bath episode of 2007, Brutus was remarkably docile and cooperative, sort of. What that actually means is we didn't have to go to the ER for stitches or blood transfusions afterwards.

We've been using this on him, and it has helped somewhat with the knots and mats, but it doesn't help with the general funk. And he's such a cranky old man when it comes to anything related to hygiene, even gentle brushing is tolerated for only 3 - 5 minute blocks of time. And is usually rewarded with vocal complaints and toothage. In the end, cat baths provide entertainment for everyone (especially the two girl cats, who escape bathing by doing diligent daily hygiene on themselves).

Awww. I sympathize with you. I just had to bath some kittens and two adult cats. Seriously not fun.

At least after a while they do start to understand that it's for their own good.
