I was almost halfway done with this shawl, only to discover the fabric was stiff and awful due to massive error in my needle size choice (see the earlier post titled "What me, swatch?"). I had no option but to rip out and start over (funny how we consider the most ludicrous possibilities, rather than face ripping something all the way out). The wonderful Comfort Shawl from Sarah's website is done. I used almost every bit of the 18 oz of LaLana Wool's handspun yarn. I used some wonderful lavender conditioner in the blocking rinse, and then attached the Karukul Tailspun trim by hand along the edge when it was dry. The shawl has a wonderful weight to it, and is incredibly soft and cuddly, especially with furry feel of the Karukul trim. Mother ewe's embrace.
