More rain, more knitting, more cats...

and even more tango. This weather is conducive to all the things we love to do, so we get to practice our dancing, play with the cats, cook, knit, watch movies, all of it. It's supposed to rain all week, hooray. I love falling asleep and waking off and on through the night to the sound of rain on the roof. The cats are even more cuddly, and were delighted we shared our homemade turkey noodle soup with them last night. I also cast on a second pair of Jaywalker socks in the Noro Sock yarn. I hate knitting with it, but the colors are so Noro-ly addictive. It's definitely what pattern this yarn wants to be. I'm trusting what other knitters have said, that the yarn soften considerably post-washing, but the actual knitting is a trial. It feels a bit like linen spun by a crazy person. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I finished both Koolhaas hats; the first one in Berroco Pure Merino for Sean in the cranberry

(I originally wrote crankberry which is perhaps more apt, but not a color that I know of), and the second in Chasing Rainbows Merino/Tencel in the colorway Forest. It's more like the inside of an abalone shell, just beautiful and hard to capture on camera.
Wow, this is some delicious yarn. It was actually hard to keep my mind on the pattern I loved the colors and feel of it so much.

I kind of messed up the crown decreases a little on Sean's hat, but on the second hat I actually read the pattern until I understood it. Duh. One of my many life lessons that I am still struggling to actually learn. Slow down. Read the instructions. Loved this pattern, thank you so much, Brooklyntweed
I will definitely be making it again.

Zoe Godzilla has been very happy to supervise the extra knitting time due to rain.
The rest of the time she is in her Kitty Pi bed
or hanging out with the other two cat overlords in a spot of sun between rain showers.
Today I simply must tear myself away from the Noro socks and work on Sean's Malabrigo Petrol vest. I'm at the point where I divide for the armholes, so it will be a little more interesting than the endless rounds of ribbing. We may also take a little break and go to Pt. Lobos for walkies. This kind of weather makes it perfect because there will be no one else there, and the wetness and overcast really brings out the colors.

oh, jealous of your Pt Lobos mosey. Your Koolhaus is so nice. I'm glad you mentioned the soft yarn, I'll add it to my dream list of yarns.

Mmmmm, more goodies... Noro sock yarn... that's what I've been reading, that it does get softer, and hopefully it'll be quite sturdy! Love the Jaywalkers knit with it (I tend to love the Jaywalkers)...
Crankberry... that certainly roused a gigglesnort but then I was distracted by the abalone shell yarn, and yes, that's exactly what it looks like, and it's beyond beautiful! I'll have to keep my eyes open for that yarn!
The Koolhaas are gorgeous, that Jared, he's something, eh?
Well.... here's to the rain, and you look so happy all snugged up with Zoe looking on.. also to the walk. I've always loved walking in the rain and yes, the colours are so much richer it seems, it's truly beautiful around here in the Spring with the redbud trees in bloom on a rainy day :^)
...meh...'instructions'... 'destructions'... heh.
Enjoy!

I've got a love/hate relationship with noro too. The socks do look great.

Beautiful hats! I love the colors & patterns. Found your blog via Blog Rush - anything w/ "cat" in the title attracts me. :D
